Wow,2008 BHIVE is over and we really had a great group that came to Florida and had a blast!!!! Due to very bad economic times and dwindling donations; the Board of Adherence Corporation has voted to suspend the 2009 event and plan on 2010. BHIVE 2010 (Be HIV Empowered) Wed. Oct 27th to Sunday Oct 31st 2010; In Treasure Island Florida is a Social Conference/Event for those infected/affected by HIV/AIDS. The Social is designed to allow ANYONE (Straight, Gay, TS/TG, Co-infected, Black, White Etc.) affected or infected by HIV/AIDS to meet others and gain inspiration, while having fun. The Get Together is timed around a local Halloween Party in Tampa, Florida called Guavaween (on saturday night). Its in the Historic part of Tampa known as Ybor City, which has about 2 square miles of bars and shops similar to that of the French Quarter of New Orleans. There will also be events like beach olympics, speed dating, afternoon bbq, and a sunset memorial - plus there are tons of tourist shops and restaurants. Our Hotel/Resort for the Event is the Tahitian Resort located on Treasure Island, Florida when reserving we suggest reserving by phone and telling them you are with the BHIVE group. The Airports one would use to get here are Tampa International Airport or the St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport. Tampa is much, much nicer and pasenger friendly, St. Pete/Clearwater is mostly economy or discount carriers.
