I
have
recently
published
a
blog:
Why
do
others
get
mad
because
americans
dont
travel
"The
world
doesn't
get
angry
because
americans
don't
travel
ouside
of
the
US.
The
world
gets
angry
because
americans
are
largely
ignorant
of
the
world
outside
of
the
US.
I
served
in
the
RAF
alongside
the
USAF
on
a
lot
of
occasions
(very
nice
chaps),
and
I
was
stunned
by
their
lack
of
knowledge
of
the
world
beyond
the
US
borders.
When
we
served
in
Italy,
I
was
stunned
when
a
USAF
officer
couldn't
locate
Italy
on
a
world
map.
I
was
also
stunned
when
a
US
shopkeeper
asked
me
where
I
come
from.
When
I
told
her
"England",
she
asked
"Is
that
near
Texas?"
I
fear
that
this
lack
of
global
awareness
is
evidenced
in
your
country's
military
policies
towards
other
nations.
Hopefully,
now
that
you
finally
seem
to
have
a
president
who's
brain
hasn't
been
removed,
all
this
will
start
to
change.
Don't
misunderstand
me.
I
like
America.
I
just
wish
you
guys
would
open
your
eyes
and
look
at
the
world
beyond
your
borders.
It
doesn't
matter
if
you
don't
travel
there.
Just
acknowledge
it's
existence,
and
it's
right
to
exist."
I
found
this
on
uk.answers.yahoo.com
and
i
agree
with
it.
If
you
have
traveled
even
briefly
outside
of
the
United
States,
you
will
soon
arrive
at
a
conclusion
which
many
before
you
have
reached:
Americans
do
not
travel.
Not
to
the
same
degree
which
Europeans
travel
at
least.
No
matter
where
I’ve
gone,
I’ve
found
more
British,
Australians,
Germans
and
Dutch.
I’m
not
talking
about
percentages
either,
but
raw
numbers.
The
United
States
-
a
nation
of
300
million
-
often
has
fewer
travelers
in
a
given
place
than
the
Netherlands,
with
a
population
of
17
million.
Many
Europeans
are
shocked
to
learn
that
most
Americans
don’t
even
hold
a
passport.
If
you
ask
Europeans
why
this
is,
the
immediate
answer
they
will
give
is
vacation
time.
Europeans
on
average
receive
three
to
four
more
vacation
weeks
per
year
than
the
average
American.
This
is
certainly
part
of
the
reason,
but
it
only
compares
averages.
In
a
country
of
300
million
there
are
still
millions
of
people
who
have
European
amounts
of
vacation.
The
population
of
people
in
the
US
who
get
five
weeks
of
vacation
per
year
is
probably
equal
to
or
greater
than
the
entire
population
of
the
Netherlands,
so
it
really
doesn’t
explain
why
you
see
more
Dutch
than
Yankees
abroad.

I
think
what
you
have
encountered
are
the
young
americans
of
the
US,.The
ones
who
are
only
trying
to
leave
home
and
start
there
careers,.You
see
the
world
as
you
know
it
is
not
a
big
deal
for
many
Americans,.And
many
Americans
could
give
a
rats
A..
Most
Americans
would
say
why
should
they
give
it
a
second
thought
or
concern
about
how
another
country
lives
or
where
it's
located,.And
i'm
speaking
from
experiece
from
talking
to
young
adults
and
the
likes,.You
seem
to
think
that
We
as
Americans
are
ignorant
because
were
unable
to
pin
point
your
country
or
other
countries
out
on
a
map,.Allow
me
to
say
it
again,.They
could
give
a
Rats
A..where
you
live,.World
history
is
not
important
to
most
Americans,.They
could
care
less..Real
talk
for
your
soul
here
Plwha,.So
now
with
that
said,.What
makes
you
the
expert
here..What
qualifies
you
to
classify
all
Americans
as
being
ignorant..Does
flying
to
a
different
country
every
now
and
again
make
you
a
world
traveler
with
expert
knowledge
that
justifies
how
every
American
should
think..I'm
just
wondering
here,.What
if
i
were
to
call
you
ignorant
for
thinking
on
the
level
that
you
do..What
would
my
fellow
Americans
consider
me
to
be,.And
A..Hole
you
think
or
some
other
crude
and
vulgar
name,.I'm
really
not
sure
what
they
would
call
me,.What
do
you
think
Plwha
what
name
would
fit
for
someone
who
stoops
as
low
as
to
classify
every
American
as
a
whole,.Or
should
i
let
it
slide
this
time
and
assume
you
will
change
your
spots
at
a
later
date..I'm
a
proud
American
who
overlooked
it
the
last
time,.But
will
honor
and
speak
up
for
my
country
when
i
feel
that
some
Jack
A..can't
seem
to
let
it
go..I
mean
no
direspect
to
ya
bru,.But
for
you
to
have
so
much
hate
towards
America
puzzles
me,.Did
this
all
start
because
you
couldn't
get
into
our
country
or
something,.I'm
just
curious..I'm
sure
a
lot
of
us
here
would
like
to
understand
where
your
coming
from
with
all
your
hatred..Again
i
mean
no
disrespect..Just
calling
it
like
i
see
it..

Hi,Thank
you
for
your
comment.
You
mentioned
that
world
history
is
not
important
to
most
Americans,that
alone
qualifies
these
"most
americans"
as
ignorants.I
made
a
mistake
by
generalizing,since
you
care
so
much
for
this
sh*t
you
call
politically
correctness.Evidently
not
all
americans
are
ignorant,bigot,etc.I
have
discovered
the
passion
of
traveling
because
of
some
american
friends
of
mine,but
even
they
would
agree
with
every
word
i
say
about
the
majority
of
americans.I
owe
a
lot
from
what
I
am
today
to
the
american
culture,my
career
was
build
with
the
help
of
some
american
wiser
than
me.
That
doesnt
mean
that
most
of
you
arent
scared
sh*tless
of
encountering
other
cultures,ways
of
life,languages.One
other
problem
you
have
lately
is
that
you
started
being
scared
of
saying
certain
words(the
"n"
word
is
a
perfect
example).Soon
you'll
be
talking
like
the
characters
from
"Harry
Potter":
the
one
whose
name
we
dont
mention.
Its
pathetic.Dont
get
me
started
on
your
patriotism,when
europeans
watch
your
loud
manifestation
of
patriotism
they
either
laugh
or
you
just
remind
them
of
Stalin's
Russia
and
communism.Why
do
you
put
your
flag
on
your
front
porches,nobody's
bloody
attacking
you,America's
one
country
that
never
had
a
war
on
its
teritory,the
japanese
are
long
gone
and
the
arabs
couldnt
care
less
of
your
flag,they
burn
millions
daily
in
the
middle
east.For
every
human
being
with
some
common
sense(i
emphasize
i've
got
very
good
american
friends
that
would
agree
with
me)
all
these
make
most
of
you
a
joke,ironically
just
because
you
take
yourself
too
seriously.What
makes
you
like
that?A
self
absorbed
US-centric
attitude?
A
destructive
ill
conceived
propaganda
coming
from
the
system?
No,
neither
of
these.
In
my
opinion
the
greatest
tragedy
is
the
lack
of
widespread
self-irony
in
your
daily
lives
and
conversations.
And
about
me
traveling
to
U.S.,I
want
you
to
know
that
i
may
have
traveled
throughout
America
more
than
you
did.
But
I
will
end
these
by
saying
that
I
still
love
the
american
people
as
they
are,you
big
babies...

You
two
give

this

I

everywhere.

What
a
load
of
crap....just
to
start
the
guy
who
served
in
the
RAF
next
to
out
guys.
Was
that
in
WWII.
Bruno
is
a
freaking
movie
by
the
way,
not
a
documentary.
I've
traveled
all
over
the
world,
and
the
real
underlying
issues
are
two
things:
1)
We
cant'
cross
borders
into
3
countries
in
a
day
like
people
in
Europe
can
and
such
the
expense
and
time
to
travel
to
Europe
is
extremely
daunting
2)
Because
of
our
distance
from
some
many
other
countries,
foreigh
language
is
not
as
stressed
in
school.
Most
people
I
meet
in
Europe
speak
English
also,
as
a
2nd
language.
We
do
only
typically
get
2-weeks
vacation
(extremely
rare
that
people
get
more)
and
that
is
a
factor.
Hardly
anyone
I
know
ever
takes
more
than
one-week
at
a
time
however.
We
work
way
more
than
most
countries
in
the
world
which
limits
our
time
off.
Want
to
know
where
my
colleagues
from
Europe
want
to
spend
there
vacation?
Florida,
where
I
grew
up
by
the
way.
They
can
do
great
on
expense
due
to
the
Euro/USD
exchange
rate
and
there
are
a
million
things
to
do.
The
people
are
friendly
and
we
welcome
tourists
from
anywhere.
I
am
going
to
agree
with
you
that
we
need
to
be
more
aware
of
the
rest
of
the
world
though.
From
the
the
time
I
went
to
school,
geography
and
world
history
have
not
been
stressed
in
class.
That
is
a
shame.
Don't
you
be
so
arrogant
to
lump
every
American
into
one
group.
