 I couldn't agree with you more Jen, right now it's all about knowing one's status and not passing it along to others...I've been tested before and am going to get tested again...but I know my symptoms aren't good and that is all I was saying...just wanted some support...I support you and the struggles you have gone through...but you really should smile and take each day as a gift, because this life is too short <3

Well, I had a fever along with a cold in 1988 for about two weeks...I didn't think anything of it such as HIV....The only way I knew was when I was in nursing school and they were doing test for cholestrol, hiv, etc...Almost 25 years later, I am doing okay health wise-mentally is a different story-why I don't know...Just probably never accepted the fact that I was responsbile myself for getting this-it does take two and I was blaming only the other person and I could have prevented myself if I only had used condoms until we both were tested and knew each others lab results in regards to hiv...This is what I now tell my 14 year old daughter...She knows the mental stress that I have gone through living with this, but I tell her-DO NOT SLEEP WITH ANYONE WITHOUT A GLOVE (CONDOM) UNLESS SHE WANTS TO PLAY RUSSIAN ROLETTE--No disrespect to you, but why in this day in age are people out there getting this virus? It doesn't make sense to me that 30 years into this and each day people continue to think they won't be exposed...Drugs, alcohol, what?  Life is too short so I hope everything turns out well for you....peace, jen

 Hello sk ...As my learned friends have written .I also concur you have no reason to worry prematurely ..The hiv virus does not show itself after 11 days..It takes weeks if not months to show itself and then sometimes no symptoms at all..please do not use internet to diagnose yourself.. Only doctor can do that ..Initially there are a huge amount of viral infections going around and hopefully you have one of those ..Please go get tested and if poz we will offer you all the support you could possibly need ...Please Be aware the virus is real and does affect anyone ..So SAFE sex is the key Always..iT TAKES 10 OR MORE YEARS TO SEVERLY DAMAGE THE IMMUNE SYSTEM....And then it would have to be subjected to quite a few OI s (opportunistic infections) Many of us here have lived with the virus 30+ years and still going strong .Because we aquire facts empower ourselves with knowledge..Educate ourselves and others hopefully ....Advice is valid if given by folks with experience.and all members on tribes have knowledge and experience to share...We say it as factual not "what you want to hear" sugar coating..Good luck and hopefully you will be fine .

Did you have some type of sexual contact with someone that is positive 11 days ago? No one is against you people are just trying to help you with your stress and anxiety. As we who know for sure we are positive have educated our selves and know most signs and symptoms and when we have felt them. Don't beat your self up get your test and when you get results get edicated about hiv no matter the outcome. Best of luck to you in your time of stress

Dear sk2190, We will all hope that your hiv test comes back negative for you. Hopefully you can take some peace of mind while you go through the testing process from this... there are other reasons why you may have oral thrush or leukoplakia. HIV is not the only way people contract these conditions. Same goes for fever and dizziness. A Dr. visit is in order for sure and it may be helpful to have written out some questions in advance regarding your HIV concerns. I have found it helpful in many of my visits to the Dr especially during the early years. Also a great site for information on HIV is www.thebody.com. You can also read many personal stories of people going through the fear that you are going through right now on there and how HIV is diagnosed and times frames and that sort of things. Many people that get tested knowing ahead of time they are sure they are positive and turnout negative. So best wishes to you on your trip to the Dr....Scott

 i hope your negative but just being exposed eleven days ago i doubt if you would have even seroconverted enough to show positive yet much less have a severely ruined immune system due to HIV.No one is trying to make light of your concern but maybe you need to educate yourself better regarding the nature of how HIV  reacts in our bodies.If your negative this test I am sure they will tell you to be retested in a few months after your body has made enough of the virus to even show up on a test.Either way learn from this and protect yourself and or others you may possibly expose the virus to

I had the flu and a terrible fever to though i was dying when i first got it. I went to three health dept because i didnt believe the results all came back with the same results i was positive. Well i have had this disease since 1995 and i am doing fine/  ,my count at last doctor visit was 588 and viral load o. So dont be afraid everyone on this site is with you and will be your friend just ask but dont become to involved with them for they may not want love just to be your friend. yes this site is for support and friend ship but like the songs say s   all we need is love............give me a shout if you need a friend.   ylaine

 I'm showing symptoms...I already know I have it...I don't need a test to tell me...but I am going in on Monday and have to stay strong until then

Hi,

We've seen several other people who were sure they were positive and thankfully turned out to be negative.  The test is the first part and in your stressed out state of mind,  I'd recommend taking someone with you when you get the results.  You may get false results, if you think you were infected just a couple of weeks ago, so be prepared to get tested again in a few months.  Best of luck

 I know it is what I have is why I am on here...my symptoms can't really be anything else. I was coming on here for support...but I guess I have no support anywhere.
