 Keep taking the Meds kimmie ..you were so far down it will be time consuming coming back again ...Your CD4s will determine you health and ability to fight infections .. You MUST keep taking the meds.. When health improves so will your appetite and frame of mind will become positive also ..

Dear Kimmie, I remember my first few years and going thru exactly what you are. It takes time but the meds will take effect and you will slowly start to feel better. Hang in there ok. I remember being super skinny and wondering if I was gonna pull through too at times. It is completely understandable to feel that way when you are not feeling well. I made it through the hard times and I think you can too. Best wishes to you... Scott   8)

Gets a lot more fun once you reach Year 5. :)  And for the record I worry about death from time to time as well.  I've just learned to hug my cats a little more when I do start worrying.    And no you are not whinning.  Your concerns are understandable.  As for the weigh loss.  I'd suggest Ensure.  They gave it to me when I started dropping weight a couple of years ago.  Really helped out especially when I just flat out didn't feel like eating because I wasn't hungry.  Ended up gaining a much needed 45 lbs.  I'm back up to weight now, but it took a couple of years.  And as to will it get better?  Hell yes it will. :)  If you like tapioca I highly suggest you chow down on it.  That and creme cheese and bagels. :)  :)  :)  Those have turned out to be my favorites.  And I hated tapioca before I became positive.  Still hate it, but it works wonders!   I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.  And just remember.  It does get better.  Especially if you have a couple of Cats to hug on when the going gets rough.  :) :) :) :)

I agree that stress should be avoided at all cost. Don't panic. Try and remain focused. They have some really good nutritional drinks that you can make to help with weight gain. I was battling the same situation with my son. We started whey powder with yogurt berries, along with some all natural vitamin bars, in addition to boost. He has gained 3 lbs. It's start and has motivated him to keep up with it. Some Dr prescribe megace if I am pronouncing it correctly, but my son is going all natural with his. He feels the medicine he is on is already overwhelming. Blessings to you, Kmg

 I hope it does get better for you Kimmie,i know there are meds you can take that will increase your appetite,ask your doc about them..many people on here who have been poz for 30+years with CD4s in the single digits and are still up and at em.Just take care of yourself the best you can and take your meds as prescribed and try to avoid stress ..thats my best advice,good luck
